Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) Skin Cancer Treatment

Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer- basal cell carcinoma being the first.  It is also usually caused by damage from chronic UV rays.  SCC can be slow growing like basal cell carcinoma, or it sometimes can appear out of the blue.  SCC can spread to other tissues, bones, and lymph nodes.  Early detection of squamous cell carcinoma is important.

If you notice sores or scabs that won’t heal, or a flat patch of scaly skin that doesn’t go away, call Mountain Pine Dermatology located in Meridian, ID at
208-898-7467 for a consultation.  Our dermatologists serve the Meridian area with integrity and compassion.  We are dedicated to finding the best treatment for your case. We serve the surrounding areas including Boise, Eagle, and Nampa.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma Removal with Mohs Surgery

After your consultation our dermatologists will propose the best treatment for your case.  SCC caught early may only need topical chemotherapy or electrodessication and curettage (ED&C).  More invasive squamous cell carcinoma will require surgical excision or Mohs micrographic surgery.
